A large-diameter telephoto zoom interchangeable lens designed specifically for the digital SLR camera, the Leica D Vario-Elmar 14-150mm/ F3.5-5.6 Asph./ Mega O.I.S., lens offers an exceptionally long zoom range of 14-150mm (35mm equivalent: 28-300mm) and complies with the Four Thirds System to assure wide compatibility with other camera models. This lens provides a considerably longer telephoto range than the Leica D Vario-Elmarit 14-50mm/ F2.8-3.5 Asph. / Mega O.I.S. lens, yet is just as compact and lightweight. The Leica D Vario-Elmar 14-150mm incorporates Panasonic's Mega O.I.S. optical image stabilizer, which makes it easy to shoot super-telephoto shots without using a tripod. The combination of an extended 28-300mm shooting range, Mega O.I.S. optical image stabilizer, and an aperture ring for intuitive control makes the Leica D Vario-Elmar 14-150mm/F3.5-5.6 Asph./ Mega O.I.S. lens perfect for capturing clear, beautiful, expressive images when shooting a wide variety of subjects and in a host of conditions.
Featuring a focal length from 14mm to 50mm (35mm equivalent: 28mm to 100mm), the Leica D Vario-Elmarit 14-50mm/F2.8-3.5 lens was the first interchangeable lens from Leica developed exclusively for digital SLR cameras. With the Leica D Vario-Elmarit 14mm to 50mm, users can experience the unique performance of Leica optical technology in the world of digital photography. The Leica D Vario-Elmarit lens comprises 16 elements in 12 groups, including two aspherical lenses. It provides high definition image rendering that conveys even the finest details and nuances. It minimizes distortion and peripheral vignetting at the wide end. And to draw the best optical performance out of this compact lens, a large-diameter aspherical glass molded lens is also incorporated. For use in Panasonic's Lumix cameras, the Leica D Vario-Elmarit 14-50mm/F2.8-3.5 ASPH lens incorporates Mega O.I.S. developed entirely by Panasonic. And to assure precise control over the MEGA O.I.S., the Venus Engine is integrated into the lens unit. To improve operating ease, there is an aperture ring in addition to the focus ring and zoom ring, giving users more intuitive aperture adjustment.
Panasonic delivers another interchangeable lens designed specifically for the digital SLR camera, the Leica D Vario-Elmar 14-50mm / F3.8-5.6 Asph./ Mega O.I.S. Designed by Leica specifically for the digital SLR camera, this advanced lens comprises 15 elements in 11 groups and features two glass molded aspherical lenses that meet Leica's strict quality and performance standards. The advanced Leica D lens also features a carefully applied multi-coating that minimizes flare, and two ED (extra-low dispersion) lenses that reduce chromatic aberration. The focusing system is entirely internal, so the lens length doesn't change as you focus. With its 14 - 50 mm focal length -- equivalent to 28 - 100 mm on a 35 mm film camera -- this lens handles it all, from wide-angle to zoom shots. Capture exquisitely beautiful portraits or stunning landscapes.
